Oakpointe Communities Celebrates the Return of Black Diamond Community Events this September with Labor Days Festival and Hometown Harvest

Oakpointe Communities Celebrates the Return of Black Diamond Community Events this September with Labor Days Festival and Hometown Harvest

Ten Trails is excited to invite residents and others in the Black Diamond area to two special events in September. These events include Black Diamond’s long-standing Labor Days festival, taking place September 4-6, and Oakpointe’s third-annual Hometown Harvest Carnival event on September 18. “When it comes to creating exceptional places to live, work and play, each neighborhood is only as good as the community it’s comprised of,” said Brian Ross, CEO of Oakpointe. “What makes a place great is a sense of camaraderie and togetherness, which is exactly why we’ve decided to become a sponsor of Black Diamond’s Labor Days and bring back our Hometown Harvest Carnival. After more than a year of staying home and staying healthy, we’re excited to get back to safely supporting these outdoor gatherings as a way to help bring the entire Black Diamond community together.” More information on both events can be found below:

Black Diamond Labor Days – September 4-6, 2021

The city of Black Diamond, Washington prides itself on its deep historical roots and time-honored traditions. Its Labor Days festival is one that residents look forward to year after year – for over 100 years now. This year’s theme is “Welcome Back,” and each day will include a variety of ways to celebrate, such as a parade, live music, food vendors, and more. For the first time ever, Oakpointe’s Ten Trails community will be kicking off the event on September 4 with a Bike and Scooter Rodeo next to the Ten Trails Welcome Center from 2-4 p.m. This family-friendly event is geared toward helping children learn the rules of the road while practicing important bike-safety skills, and Oakpointe will give away 200 helmets to any child who needs one. Families are invited to stick around Ten Trails that evening for an outdoor movie night beginning at 8:15 p.m. in Civic Park, where they’ll be showing “Toy Story 4.” For more updates and details on Black Diamond Labor Days, visit: http://www.blackdiamondlabordays.org/.

Hometown Harvest Carnival – September 18, 2021

Oakpointe’s third-annual Hometown Harvest Carnival takes place on Saturday, September 18 from 12-6 p.m. in the heart of Ten Trails. After a year away, Oakpointe anticipates this year’s celebration could be the grandest one yet, so the event will span both Civic Park and Village Green. Community members are invited to come and enjoy a variety of food trucks, a beer and wine garden, games, 40+ local arts and crafts vendors, live music courtesy of local country singer Aaron Crawford, and plenty more. Oakpointe is also offering a tasting tour that stops by many of its Ten Trails model homes. Participants will be given a “tour passport” that can be stamped at each destination for a chance to win prizes along the way. Oakpointe is excited to be partnering with Lill Family Wines to share a special Ten Trails-branded wine, which will be available for purchase and consumption in the Beer and Wine Garden located at Civic Park. Light Up Your Hometown Holiday Lights Contest Builds Community in a Challenging Time

Residents of Ten Trails can count themselves lucky to live in a community where events, activities and amenities are just one part of the lifestyle! The developer of Ten Trails, Oakpointe Communities, created the community with a goal in mind to build a place that is desirable to live, and where residents can feel a connection to their community and to each other. With this goal in mind, we continue to offer fun activities to build community, even during the Covid-19 pandemic. One of these activities is our recent Light Up Your Hometown Holiday Lights Contest.

Hometown Holiday Lights Contest

For the second year in a row, Ten Trails asked residents to take part in a holiday lights competition! Community Scavenger Hunt

Visit Ten Trails and Take Part in our Community Scavenger Hunt

Since most of us will not be able to take any beach vacations this summer, we thought we would bring some beach-y fun to Ten Trails! We are hosting a weekly Scavenger Hunt contest throughout the month of August! Each week, find the hidden Flamingo Gnome somewhere at Ten Trails, take a socially distanced selfie with it, and send your photo to info@tentrails.com. Your emailed photo automatically enters you to win a  $50 gift card for local takeout!

New Hiding Spot Each Week

Our beach-loving gnome will have a new hiding spot each week within the community! Look for it on your next stroll through the community and keep in mind he will be hidden somewhere within the community common areas – that is our parks, trails, rain gardens, fire pits, and community pathways. We ask that in order for this hunt to be as safe as possible, participants maintain social distancing when looking for the gnome, and avoid picking up or moving him when taking a selfie.

How to Enter to Win

Submit your photos by 5pm each Monday in August. We will randomly select a winner for the contest and announce it Wednesday on our Facebook page, @TenTrails. Be sure to follow us so you don’t miss out on any contest updates! 360.469.4043 www.TenTrails.com

Meet New Neighbors to Ten Trails: The Scott Family

Meet New Neighbors to Ten Trails: The Scott Family

Ten Trails is happy to introduce new neighbors, Justin and Kit Scott! This couple moved to the community last month from nearby Maple Valley and are in love with their new lifestyle in this growing master planned community!

Brand New Homes at an Attractive Price Point

The Scotts were drawn to the community because of the competitive prices on brand new homes and fell in love with the great amenities offered at Ten Trails. “I’ve always been attracted to city living,” says Kit, “but I don’t necessarily want to live around all the crazy crowds and nightlife that brings. Ten Trails offers the best of both worlds: it’s very family-focused here, but with all of the services and amenities nearby that we need.”

A Community for Residents of all Ages

The Scotts have three teenage children who are enjoying their new Ichijo Sawyer plan home as much as their parents. “They love bringing their friends over to show off the house,” says Kit. The family of five especially enjoyed spending the holiday in their new home. “We moved in the day of Ten Trails’ Christmas tree-lighting event,” says Kit. “We were so sad we couldn’t go, but we really enjoyed hearing all the music and cheering from our house. We definitely are looking forward to attending next year!” When asked if they’d recommend the community to others, the Scotts responded with a resounding, “yes!” “We are just so impressed with Ten Trails,” says Justin. “The whole experience has been wonderful.” Welcome to the community, Justin and Kit! We are so glad you chose Ten Trails as Your New Hometown! 360.469.4043 www.TenTrails.com

Get to Know the Ten Trails Civic Park

Get to Know the Ten Trails Civic Park

If you haven’t checked out our Civic Park yet, you need to do so soon! This 1.2-acre park is located in the heart of the community and boasts a number of great amenities for residents and the public to enjoy. The Civic Park also serves as the hub of all activity during our many community events!

Award-Winning Design

This November, the Washington Society for Landscape Architects (WASLA) recognized the landscape designers of the Civic Park at Ten Trails with an award of merit for excellent design work. Jurors for the award noted the park’s wide range of play equipment and social amenities like the event lawn, stage, restrooms, and picnic area.

Playground Equipment

The park’s unique and thoughtful design is evident when visiting its playground area. Two long slides are built into a landscaped hillside, which also features a meandering sloped gravel pathway flanked by native flowering plants. A large play structure is complimented by a jungle gym, todder play house, and basket swing.

Sports Courts

Our Civic Park has a sports court with two basketball hoops and an extra supply of basketballs for visitors to use. Adjacent to the sports court are two bocce ball courts complete with sets of balls and an instructional sign so that those who are new to the sport can learn to enjoy it.

Event Space

A striking outdoor pavilion serves as both a stage for events held in the community as well as the screen area for summer movie nights in the park. The entire pavilion is surrounded by a large, grassy event lawn which doubles as extra play space for neighborhood team sports when not used for community events. 360.469.4043 www.TenTrails.com
