Five Great Reasons to Live in a Planned Community

Five Great Reasons to Live in a Planned Community

There are countless reasons to choose to live in a planned community like Ten Trails. Here are just a few of the reasons why you should consider Ten Trails as your new hometown!

Beautiful Landscape Design

Ten Trails has partnered with Pacific Landscape Management to create lush and beautiful landscape designs throughout the community’s parks, neighborhoods, and open spaces. Ten Trails has two major community parks that are landscaped and maintained by Pacific Landscape Management, as well as smaller parks scattered throughout the community.

Connect with Other New Neighbors

Making friends and connecting with new neighbors is easy in a planned community like Ten Trails where new neighbors are constantly joining the community from local cities as well as from around the country. Whether you are moving into a new home to raise your new family, or settling into an “empty nester” home, chances are there are plenty of other residents like you who are looking to meet new neighbors. Connect via the community Facebook group, through resident activities like yoga in the park, or at one of our community events.

Walkability

Ten Trails has miles of paved and unpaved walking trails to enjoy. Walking paths weave through parks, open spaces, and neighborhoods, and our trails connect our wooded natural spaces. Enjoy walking, biking, jogging, and more all within the community.

Amenities

At Ten Trails, we have a wide variety of amenities to suit residents of every age. This includes sports courts and equipment as well as walking trails, jungle gyms, pea patches, a kids’ zip-line, a performance stage, and many other fantastic amenities! As the community grows, more amenities will be added for residents to enjoy.

Enjoy a Sense of Community

Ten Trails’ developer envisioned a community where residents could come together to enjoy and connect with their community and to each other. The community was planned to include amenities, park spaces, and community events meant to bring residents and the public together to enjoy gorgeous spaces inspired by nature. www.TenTrails.com 360.469.4043

Ten Trails Offers Pea Patches for Residents as One of Many Community Amenities

Ten Trails Offers Pea Patches for Residents as One of Many Community Amenities

One of the huge benefits of living in a master planned community is access to community amenities! At Ten Trails, we have a wide variety of amenities to suit residents of every age. From playgrounds to pea patches, our residents have their pick of community features to enhance their lifestyle.

Community Pea Patches at Ten Trails

Some of the most popular amenities at Ten Trails are our community pea patches! Residents can opt to rent a pea patch plot for the spring/summer season to grow fruits, vegetables, herbs, and flowers. With 2021 being the first official year our pea patches have been in use, it has been great fun to see all the different varieties of plants our residents are growing.

Benefits of Community Pea Patches

Our pea patches are a space where residents can come together to grow community and plan, plant, and maintain a piece of open space. As one of many gathering spaces in Ten Trails, our pea patches help strengthen the community by fostering connections and serve as a point of pride amongst residents.

More Pea Patches Coming for the 2022 Growing Season

Ten Trails will have more pea patches available for resident rental beginning early 2022. If you are a resident who is interested in renting a pea patch, contact your HOA manager, Jodi Kay, at hoa@tentrails.com for details. www.TenTrails.com 360.469.4043

Design spotlight: Kitchen Islands

Design spotlight: Kitchen Islands

Ten Trails’ builder partners offer stunning homes in the community with all the latest features in home design trends. One trend that we do not see going away for a long time is the incorporation of an island in the kitchen. From complementary cabinet colors to oversized sinks, kitchen islands in new homes at Ten Trails are on-trend and will fit your family’s modern lifestyle.

Quartz Countertops

Durable and attractive, quartz countertops are a popular choice for kitchen island countertops and can be found in many of the homes at Ten Trails. These engineered stone tops can be made into a variety of colors to suit any décor and will last homeowners years to come with proper care.

Oversized Sinks in the Kitchen Island

Large, double, or oversized sinks are a popular addition to many kitchen islands in new homes. A large open sink is preferable to the divided sinks of years ago, and ideal for washing large pots and pans. Placement of the sink and dishwasher in the kitchen island is a common choice with many new home builders.

Seating for Four or More People

It also common in new homes to have an overhang space on kitchen island countertops to provide an eating area for four or more people. For casual meals or more space when entertaining, having seating space at the kitchen island is a wonderful addition to any new home.

Complementary Cabinet Colors

Kitchen islands also allow home designers to make creative color choices by selecting complementary cabinet and countertop colors for the island and the rest of the kitchen cabinetry. By making the kitchen island cabinetry and countertops a different color than the rest of the kitchen, it creates a distinctive focal point for the space. www.TenTrails.com 360.469.4043

Ways To Support Your Local Community

Ways To Support Your Local Community

In this time of change and uncertainty, it can seem overwhelming to take on one more thing. We have had to adjust to life where many of us work from home, or aren’t working at all. Many kids are being taught at home, and many of our favorite local restaurants and stores have restricted access for customers. The Black Diamond area thrives on the support of local residents so we thought we would make it easy for residents to find ways to give back to their local community – without having to do much research and while still adhering to safety precautions.

Order Takeout and Delivery from Local Restaurants

The Black Diamond area has a ton of great local restaurants that are offering takeout! If you do not feel like venturing out, you can also request food be delivered to your home via GrubHub or UberEats. Even better, win $50 in FREE takeout by taking part in one of Ten Trails’ weekly contests! This week we are having a scavenger hunt. Find the hidden Flamingo Gnome and submit a photo of yourself with it to info@tentrails.com to be entered to win the prize.

Purchase Gift Cards from Local Businesses

Along with ordering food from your favorite local restaurants, add some gift cards to that purchase! Buying gift cards helps generate revenue for the business and affords you the opportunity to come back at another time to dine-in. These can be great gifts for others or for yourself, it makes a promise to the business that you will be back, and shows how much you appreciate them. The Black Diamond Community Center provides many needed services to the local community. They give school supplies and backpacks to local children, provide services and meals for seniors, and run a local food bank. You can support the Black Diamond Community Center by participating in some of their fundraisers like their most recent community Garage Sale. The Community Center also takes non-perishable food donations that can be dropped off at the Ten Trails Welcome Center donation bin located at the front of the building. For a list of needed items, visit their website.

Support the Historic Museum Depot

The Historical Museum Depot in nearby downtown Black Diamond was once the train station for the railroad that ran from the former Town of Franklin to Seattle. Today, the building is a repository for all things Black Diamond and offers a glimpse into the rich history of this beautiful city. The building is in need of some repairs and is running a GoFundMe campaign to raise money for a new furnace. Consider donating to help this local treasure.

Write Positive Reviews for Local Businesses

If you cannot get out to your local businesses or afford to buy from them to show your support, consider writing a positive review for them! Utilize Yelp, Google, and the businesses’ social media pages to put in a good word. Good reviews not only positively impact the morale of business owners and their staff, but other customers are over 67% more likely to shop somewhere with good reviews.

Follow Local Businesses on Social Media

Another way to show your support from home is to follow local businesses’ social media pages. In today’s Covid-19 environment, many businesses are keeping customers informed largely through social media. With a bigger social media following, local businesses can stay in touch with their customer base and be more available to loyal customers for questions. While you are following local businesses, be sure to also follow, @TenTrails, for our updates! We post regularly to Facebook, Instagram and Twitter! 360.469.4043 www.TenTrails.com

The trail is part of privately-owned land, but the public is welcome to tour the Franklin Ghost Town trail for a $5 fee.

Maid of the Mist Waterfall

Nolte State Park

Nolte State Park is one of the area’s finest state park recreation sites, but is not well-known to anyone who lives outside the immediate area. This 110-acre day-use park has 7,174 feet of freshwater shoreline located on Deep Lake near the Green River Gorge.

Small Details Make a Big Difference in the New Master Planned Community, Ten Trails

Small Details Make a Big Difference in the New Master Planned Community, Ten Trails

Ten Trails’ developer, Oakpointe Communities, has been creating communities in the Puget Sound region for more than 30 years. It is their attention to detail that helps create a quality of life that sets Oakpointe’s neighborhoods apart from all the rest. At Ten Trails, decades of careful planning have gone into creating what is the fastest growing master planned community in King County.

Detailed Landscape Planning

The entire community of Ten Trails is beautifully-landscaped by Pacific Landscape Management. Native and drought-tolerant plants line the community’s many paved walkways, and flower beds with seasonal varieties of flowers that bring year-round color to the community. The community’s many flowering trees create a stunning show in the early spring months, and the late autumn leaf color change creates a beautiful backdrop and welcoming transition to fall.

Comprehensive Trail Plan

Ten Trails has miles of trails for residents to use for biking, walking or jogging. Our nature trails weave through forested areas of the community and were created sustainably using recycled chipped wood. Newer trails will connect future development in the community including the upcoming Retail Village with additional plans to connect the community trails to the proposed King County Green to Cedar River Trail Southern Extension.

Planned Connectivity for Modern Living

Now more than ever before, working from home has become a common practice for many professionals, and Ten Trails has the connectivity residents need to conduct business from the comfort of their home office. Every home in the community is wired for 1 gigabyte speed internet through Wave. The 1-gig internet service at Ten Trails provides downloads and uploads up to 1,000 Mbps, with fast performance and streaming. There are no data caps included with your service, so feel free to surf and stream on multiple devices, appliances and security systems throughout your home.
