While many of us are hoping for a much different looking 2021 than 2020, a few home design trends that emerged during the pandemic may continue to stick around. If you are moving into a new home this year or simply need a change in your current one, why not try one of these popular design trends?

An Abundance of Indoor Plants

Indoor plants have always been popular, but they became a huge rage during the pandemic. With many people unable to leave their homes during stay-home orders, and some with limited outdoor space, bringing the outside in through indoor greenery became extremely popular. For newbies to indoor plant care, check with a local nursery to see which plants will do best in your home. Some varieties that are hardy and thrive during winter’s low light in our northern climate include Parlor Palms, Snake Plants and certain varieties of ivy.

Edible Gardens

Edible gardens became a big trend in 2020 with many people reluctant to venture out of their homes as often to get fresh produce, and many farmers’ markets shut down due to the pandemic. Keep the trend going through 2021 with an indoor herb or lettuce garden to carry you through the winter months. You can also begin sprouting spring vegetable seeds indoors in February or March for planting outside once the risk of frost has passed for the season. More Builder Options Than Ever Before

There are currently six builders actively selling homes in the community, with more builders releasing homes for sale soon! Rudd joined the community in February 2020 and is rapidly selling their gorgeous and modern townhome units. Lennar has been selling homes in Ten Trails since the early months of the community’s opening and continues to sell homes in its Village Collection, with more exciting new releases coming soon. Four new builders joined the community in the second half of 2020. We are happy to have partnered with JK Monarch, Pulte Homes, Toll Brothers and Oakridge Homes to bring more single-family homes options to the community, including new rambler options!

Ten Trails is excited to share news of new releases coming from MainVue and Ichijo in the next several months. Both builders will be constructing homes in the Enclave section of the community. Enjoy New Parks and Additions to the Community

Ten Trails has been busy over the past several months adding on to our amazing network of parks in the community. We recently opened Big Rock Park just southeast of the Village Green and improved our Civic Park by adding a brand new zipline!

The vision for Ten Trails is that, when complete,  there will be a park within walking distance to every home. In keeping with this vision, we have continued to open new parks as the community grows. Recently we completed a new park located across from the new JK Monarch lots. Big Rock Park features kids’ play equipment including a jungle gym a swing set, our new community pea patches, a play lawn, and a large boulder found on site that was the inspiration for the new park’s name.

New Zipline in Civic Park

We are excited to share that we have installed a new zipline in Civic Park! This new Speedway Zipline was manufactured in Germany and measures 64’ in length. This particular model is heavily used in city parks across the globe. We ask that in order to keep the zipline functioning properly, users observe the weight limit set for it, which is 175 lbs., and only one person may use the zipline at a time.
