It was another fun and festive Labor Days event weekend in historic Black Diamond, WA. Ten Trails was happy to see a lot of familiar faces and new resident stopping by our booth. We hope to see everyone at next year’s event!  

Celebrate Spring Flowers with Nearby Festivals and Activities 

Early spring is here and local flower-themed spring festivals and events mark the celebration of the end of a lengthy, cold winter. If the grey skies have been bringing you down these past few months, these activities will be sure to brighten your day!

Hellebore Tea at Lake Wilderness Lodge, March 10^th at 2pm 

The Lake Wilderness Arboretum Foundation in Maple Valley will host its yearly fundraising event, the Hellebore Tea. Guests look forward to this festive occasion which pays homage to the hellebore flowers that bloom in late winter and early spring. Attendees wear creative hats, enjoy delightful tea-party food, and bid on silent auction items to benefit the Lake Wilderness Arboretum Foundation. Our very own Kate from the Ten Trails Welcome Center will be in attendance, joining the Lumberhouse Brewery table. Skagit Valley Tulip Festival, April 1-30

Now in its 36^th year, the Skagit Valley Tulip Festival will run throughout the month of April. The festival includes a street fair, art shows, parade, fun runs, show gardens, gala, and much more. Don’t miss your opportunity to take a scenic drive through the valley to view fields of daffodils, irises, and tulips for as far as the eye can see! Seattle Cherry Blossom Festival, April 26-28

Hosted by the Seattle Center, the Cherry Blossom & Japanese Cultural Festival commemorates the gift of 1,000 cherry trees that Japan bestowed upon the city in 1976. Attendees gain an understanding of Japanese cultural roots through live performances, visual arts, demonstrations, food, and hands-on activities. One highlight of the festival is the popular Taiko drummers show. Of course, cherry blossom viewing, known as Hanami, is the visual gift that keeps hundreds of thousands of guests returning to this festival year after year. Ten Trails is proud to once again sponsor the Black Diamond Labor Days festival! For three days on Labor Day weekend, the City of Black Diamond honors its history with this historical celebration. Originally, a Fourth of July celebration for the coal-mining families in the city, Black Diamond Labor Days was moved to Labor Day weekend after WWII. Family-Friendly Fun at Enumclaw Sundays on Cole Street

Ten Trails is located just a few minutes’ drive from the City of Enumclaw where residents can find quaint gift shops, bakeries, coffee bars, restaurants, clothing stores and more. During the summer months from early July to late August, the city hosts “Sundays on Cole Street,” a outdoor, open market to promote its local businesses.

Visit Local Vendor Booths and Enjoy Live Music

Sundays of Cole Street is more than just an outdoor market, however. In addition to vendor tents, that sell hand-crafted jewelry, crafts, wood project, vintage items, artwork and skincare, they also have a performance stage featuring live music. On certain Sundays, visitors can tour vintage trailers.

Dine in Downtown Enumclaw

After enjoying all the fun at Sundays on Cole, take the family to one of Enumclaw’s many restaurants. Downtown Enumclaw is full of places to eat, offering a wide variety of fare. Don’t miss the historic Mint Restaurant and Ale House,  with it’s 28 beers on tap, as well as Il Siciliano,  an quiet Italian restaurant off the main road which tempts passersby with delicious scents of garlic and simmering marinara sauce. Black Diamond Miner’s Day 

This Saturday, July 7, head to historic Black Diamond, Washington for a celebration of the city’s history. The Miner’s Day Festival brings together residents of the city and visitors from surrounding areas to take part in a number of activities, including, skits, live music, dancing, a vendor fair, 5k race, donut-eating contest and more!

Celebrate Black Diamond’s Coal-Mining History 

Black Diamond’s history as an important coal-mining location helped shape the city and brought immigrants and new residents from all over the world. Today, Black Diamond residents remember the city’s roots through this annual celebration which honors the city’s rich history and brings the community together through a number of fun activities.

Fun for the Entire Family at Miner’s Day

Miner’s Day has activities to keep the whole family entertained! Start the day with a 5k race which begins with the sound of the historic coal mine disaster siren. Throughout the day, visit vendor booths, take part in the donut-eating contest, enjoy live music and a vintage fashion show!
