Nearby Events this Holiday Season If you didn’t get enough holiday fun at our Hometown Holiday event last weekend, don’t fret! Ten Trails residents still have plenty of activities to choose from to celebrate this magical time of year!

December 14th Hometown Christmas in Black Diamond

From 10 am until 3 pm on December 14th, head to historic downtown Black Diamond for the Black Diamond Historical Society’s annual Hometown Christmas event! Meet Santa and Mrs. Claus as well as Frosty the Snowman and take part in a ton of activities like cookie-decorating, face-painting, and more! All are welcome, and the kids’ activities are free.

December 14th Christmas Rush Fun Run and Walk                  

Before heading to Hometown Christmas, bring the family to nearby Kent for the Christmas Rush Fun Run/Walk at Hogan Park. Registration begins at 8 am, the 10k runners start at 9:50 am and the 5K at 10 am. Registration is open until the day of the event and costs $25 per participant.

Now through January 5th: Zoolights at the Point Defiance Zoo and Aquarium 

Take a quick drive to nearby Tacoma for their annual Zoolights holiday display! 700,000 LED lights transform the Point Defiance Zoo and Aquarium into a winter wonderland complete with 3D animal light displays sure to dazzle the youngest members of your family.

Second Annual Hometown Holiday Event at Ten Trails

Second Annual Hometown Holiday Event at Ten Trails Ten Trails is having our second annual Hometown Holiday event on December 7th from 3 to 6:30 pm! This year’s event will be even bigger than last year with tours of model homes featuring family-friendly crafts, selfies with Santa in our Welcome Center, music, carolers, and a bounce house. The days’ events will culminate with Santa lighting the Christmas tree in our Village Green Park.

Visit the Ten Trails Welcome Center First

Stop by our Welcome Center first to grab a map to the model homes and take a photo with Santa! The first 100 people to visit will receive a free cupcake. Don’t forget to bring your donation items for the Black Diamond Community Center. We are collecting non-perishable food items, diapers, and toothpaste for families in need in our local area.

Holiday Crafts at our Model Homes

Our 14 model homes will be open from 10 am to 5 pm on December 7th for touring, with holiday craft stations set up in four models from 3 to 5 pm. Activities include sugar cookie decorating at the MainVue model home, letters to Santa at the Ichijo model, ornament making at the Lennar Hazelwood model and holiday stocking painting at the Conner Homes model.

Holiday Tree Lighting in our Village Green Park

Head over to the Village Green Park from 5 to 6:30 pm and bring your appetite! We will have food trucks serving dinner items as well as the Legendary Donuts truck. Listen to all the biggest holiday hits as well as music from live carolers while sipping on complimentary hot cocoa, hot apple cider and non-alcoholic hot buttered rum. A DJ and bouncy house will be there to keep everyone entertained while they await Santa’s big arrival. Mountain View Fire and Rescue will deliver Santa on a decorated fire truck to the Village Green Park for the lighting of our holiday tree at 6 pm! Wild Waves Fright Fest 2019 

Head to nearby Wild Waves Theme and Water Park in Federal Way for their first annual Fright Fest! Weekends now through November 2nd, the park has family day activities from noon until 6 pm, and scary activities and haunted attractions for children 13 and over from 6 pm to 7pm.

Halloween Harvest Festival

This coming Saturday in Auburn, Ten Trails families can take part in the city’s Halloween Harvest Festival featuring games, crafts, rides and trunk-or-treating! The event is held at the Auburn Parks Arts and Recreation Building at 910 9th Street SE from 1 to 5 pm.

The Haunted Woods at Maris Farm 

Maris Farm in Buckley will hold one final weekend of their Haunted Woods attraction this coming weekend! Take a 35-40 minute tour of terror through an abandoned barn on the farm property followed by a trip through a twisty corn maze and a final walk (or run) through the haunted woods. Due to the graphic nature of this tour, it is not recommended for children under the age of ten.

Haunted Forest of Maple Valley

The Haunted Forest of Maple Valley has activities for kids of all ages including a trick-or-treat event this coming Saturday, October 26th, from 5 to 6 pm. More mature residents who are looking for a scare can check out Terror on the Cedar River, a haunted tour that takes place this Friday, October 25th and Saturday, October 26th from 7 to 11 pm.

Halloween Craft Party

Residents looking for a quieter Halloween experience can check out the Halloween Craft Party at the Renton History Museum this Saturday, October 26th from 11 am to 1 pm. Annual Christmas Lights Show

At the Mt. Rainier Christian Center of Enumclaw, enjoy a synchronized holiday lights show! Tune your radio to 91.7 FM any time between 4 pm and midnight on New Year’s Eve and sit back and enjoy Christmas music combined with a spectacular lights display. Admission is free!

New Year’s Eve Pre-Funk Party at Plateau Wines

New Year’s Eve Part at the Kent Event Center

Hometown Holiday

Hometown Holiday at Ten Trails 

Join us at Ten Trails on December 15th from 12 to 3 pm for our Hometown Holiday event! Stop at our Welcome Center first for hot cocoa, candy canes and a photo with Santa! We will have a photographer on site taking photos and we will provide one printed photo per family.

Kids’ Crafts in our Model Homes

Afterwards, head to our model homes for a variety of kids’s crafts and activities including letters to the North Pole, homemade Christmas ornaments, cookie-frosting and more!

Dark Haunted Forest Maple Valley

Take a spooky tour through the haunted forest with your little ones on October 30 and 31st at Royal Arch Park, 20821 Renton Maple Valley Hwy SE from 7-10 pm.  In addition to the walk, there will be concessions and classic horror clips playing while you wait in line.

Trick-or-Treat at the Pacific Science Center

Head to Seattle’s Pacific Science Center from 4 to 7 pm on Tuesday, October 30th for trick-or-treating and half-priced admission! Kids can take part in spooky Halloween activities and stage and planetarium shows.

11th Annual Hallo-Wee Story Time and Parade

Head to the Auburn library at 1102 Auburn Way South for their 11th Annual Hallo-Wee Story Time and Parade! Kids in costumes can parade around the library and cozy up with friends and family members to hear a not-too-scary Halloween story.

Renton Ikea Trick or Treat
