Ichijo Offers Technology Features on Its New Duplexes in Ten Trails

New Duplexes in Ten Trails

Ichijo has broken ground on their new duplexes being built near our community park. The Japanese builder is well-known for their modern-style homes built in the Seattle area as well as the number of innovative technological features included in their homes. The new Ichijo duplexes at Ten Trails will feature piano finish cabinetry with pull-down shelves, spice racks, adjustable built-ins, architectural grade dual-sliding windows, and contemporary interior doors which include metal inlay, ten-degree short stroke handle and magnetic stop doors.

Green Home Builder

Ichijo is a “green” certified home builder and has certified a number of homes as “5-Star Built Green” through the Master Builders Association of King and Snohomish Counties. This distinction means their home projects are certified energy-efficient, using sustainable materials among other stringent building criteria.  Ichijo is hoping to achieve the Built Green certification at Ten Trails with features on the new duplexes like the additional two inches of exterior insulation on each home–beyond what is required on building codes. The insulation is included on the exterior of the high-quality wall panel construction that is pre-assembled with wall framing, windows, weather barriers, furring strips, and rainscreens. The energy-saving features allow for up to a reported one-third energy savings on new homes. Homeowners also have the option of upgrading to solar power systems in their new Ten Trails duplex. Each home will be built “solar ready” so solar panels can be added with the purchase of a home, or in the future

New Models Opening This Spring

Work is being done on these new homes right now, with two model homes to open in Spring 2019 so you can see all these great technological features in person! Follow Ten Trails and Ichijo on social media for updates on this new section of the community! www.TenTrails.com 360-469-4043

Meet Shelley!

Meet Shelley McDonald, Sales Representative for Conner Homes at Ten Trails! Shelley works with Jerry Farfan to help visitors to the Conner Homes model at Ten Trails find their ideal home!

A Legacy of New Home Sales

Shelley has worked in the real estate and mortgage industries for more than 25 years. She started out as a document drawer for a mortgage company and ended up in what ultimately seemed like her destiny: new home sales. “My father was a spec builder in Spokane and my mom was a top real estate agent, so I guess you can say it’s in my blood,” she says. “I think I always knew I would end up working for a builder in new home sales.” Shelley was a real estate agent for Keller Williams in Kirkland when she was asked to sit in one of Conner Homes’ open houses one weekend. She fell in love with the builder’s style and craftsmanship and vowed to work for the company. “I just kept asking to sit in their homes one weekend after another until they hired me,” she says with a laugh.

A Fulfilling Role

Shelley’s determination is an asset in her role as Sales Representative at Ten Trails. She loves finding out what people are looking for in their dream home, and helping them find the home that best suits their needs. “After months of working with clients, I love handing them their keys and seeing the joy on their faces when they get to move into a home that they love,” she says. “It’s so heartwarming to see every single time.”

A Personal Touch

Shelley is just one key player in an entire team of people at Conner Homes ready to offer assistance and a “personal touch” to their home buyers. “We are locally-owned and have been in business in the Puget Sound area for more than 60 years,” Shelley says. “When you buy a home from Conner Homes, you’re not just another number in the sales process. We get to know each and every client on a personal level, and take pride in maintaining a relationship with them that lasts years to come.” Stop by the Conner Homes Model at Ten Trails today and say hello to Shelley! 360-469-4043 www.TenTrails.com

Mountain View Fire and Rescue Team with Rig

Meet Chief Greg Smith

Mountain View Fire and Rescue’s Chief Greg Smith is serving his 26th year as the Fire Chief. He came to the district in 1992 after serving as Assistant Fire Chief in another part of Washington. In his role, Greg oversees eight fire stations in the district and a combination department of both career and volunteer firefighters.

King County Fire District 44 staff and Chief Greg Smith

Partnership with the Community

You may have met some of the firemen from Mountain View at one of our Ten Trails events! Their trucks, or “rigs” as they call them, have been parked at a few of our most recent events. Look for more partnerships between Ten Trails and Mountain View Fire and Rescue in the near future!

Sign Up for Alerts

Chief Smith would like to urge all residents of Ten Trails and the other district areas to sign up for text or email alerts from the district. You’ll be the first to know about severe weather, power outages and other helpful emergency information. You can find the sign up link here: http://www.kcfd44.org/list.aspx?ListID=169.m

Volunteer

Because Mountain View Fire and Rescue is a “combination department,” they have career personnel in addition to a large number of volunteers. Anyone interested in volunteering for the district should inquire via their website. A new academy of volunteers will begin training this March, however applications to become a volunteer are accepted year round. They also have a program for resident volunteers who are volunteers who have the option of living rent free in one of the district’s eight fire stations. For more information on Mountain View Fire and Rescue, visit their website: http://www.kcfd44.org/. www.TenTrails.com 360-469-4043

Nearby Snoqualmie Falls

Visit Snoqualmie Falls

Looking for a family day trip? Consider visiting Washington state’s most famous waterfall! Snoqualmie Falls tumbles down 268 feet with its width ranging from 50 to 150 feet, depending on water levels. After heavy rains, the roaring cascade takes on a curtain form that is a dramatic sight to behold.

The falls can be viewed from the lovely two-acre park which offers a gift shop, observation deck, the Salish Lodge, picnic areas, restrooms and a hiking trail.

Observation Deck

The upper observation platform provides the best view of the falls and is wheelchair accessible. This is a must-stop spot for your family photo-op or selfie! The deck is sheltered, free, and open to the public from dawn until dusk.

Trail to the Base of the Falls

Visitors can hike from the parking lot to the misty boardwalk near the base of the falls. The trail descends 1.3 miles through forested land to a powerhouse and a lower observation deck. Hikers can look through the windows of the powerhouse to view the turbines generating hydroelectric power for Puget Sound Energy. The trail includes interpretive signs introducing native wildlife and vegetation. A few sections of the trail are steep and provide a short challenge on the way back up the hill. It is a great introduction to the region for beginning hikers.
