We are excited to partner with the Black Diamond Historical Society for their annual Hometown Christmas event! Following all the fun activities in downtown Black Diamond, head to Ten Trails for an evening of free, family-friendly fun! We will have carolers, selfies with Santa and Mrs. Claus, cookies, hot chocolate and SANTA LIGHTING OUR CHRISTMAS TREE! The tree lighting will take place at approximately 5:30 pm in the Village Green Park.

Meet Jerry Farfan, Area Sales Manager/Sales Representative for Conner Homes 

Meet Jerry

Jerry has lived in the Northwest for the past 20 years, and has been working in new construction sales for about 16 of those years. After having worked for several different home builders in the area, Jerry is happy to now be the Area Sales Manager/Sales Representative for local builder, Conner Homes.

Thanksgiving Traditions to Celebrate in your new Ten Trails Home

Thanksgiving traditions vary widely by family and it’s always fun to share new ideas and learn how other families celebrate. This Thanksgiving, here are a few ideas of things  you and your guests can do to mark this special day of gratitude!

Start a Thankful Journal

Have each person that joins your Thanksgiving gathering write what they are thankful for in a journal, including their name and age.  Read each person’s item during the meal and then store the journal to be brought out again the following year. Have fun reading through each family member or guest’s entry from year to year.

Set up a Paper Turkey Hunt

Prior to the big day, print out some free printable turkey images and hide them throughout the gathering space. When guests arrive, let them know to collect as many turkeys as they can. Whomever collects the most turkeys wins a prize!

Take a Group Photo

Take the opportunity while you have everyone gathered in the same location to take a friends and family photo! You can add this photo to your grateful journal and witness your Thanksgiving gatherings grow year after year.

Play a Board Game

When the meal is over and all the dishes are put away, enjoy some friendly competition with some board games! Great game suggestions for large groups are Apples to Apples, Pictionary, and Scrabble.

Go to the Movies

Enumclaw Fall Wine Walk Tomorrow

The Enumclaw Fall Wine Walk is finally here! Ten Trails residents can join other locals to discover this social gem on Saturday, Nov. 17^th. Wine lovers are invited to attend this event on Cole Street in Enumclaw. The Enumclaw Wine Walk is a semi-annual event, offered in the spring and fall, that provides guests an opportunity to stroll through local businesses and sample wines from approximately 20 wineries.

Admission

The $30.00 admission fee includes 10 tasting tickets, a premier wine glass, and a passport booklet with information about the locations, wines and participating wineries. Dr. Harding’s office will be selling tickets at 1705 Cole Street during the event or you can buy tickets ahead of time online at Brown Paper Tickets.

Green River College

Green River College is a public college committed to educating students in southern King County and beyond. Students from all over the world come to the community college to benefit from its more than 40 programs. The college offers transfer degrees, bachelor of applied science degrees, and technical certificates. Additionally, Green River College offers continuing education classes, and pre-college and basic skills courses.

Convenient to Ten Trails

The main campus of Green River College  is located in nearby Auburn. Set in the midst of a sprawling 180-acres of forested land, the beautiful campus features modern architecture  and a number of forested walking paths for students and visitors to enjoy. Branch campuses of the community college are located Kent, Enumclaw, as well as downtown Auburn. Residents of Ten Trails who are looking to expand their education will have convenient to the college’s main campus which is located just a short drive away. In addition, the Enumclaw campus is only nine miles from Ten Trails, while the Kent and Auburn campuses are just 13 miles away.

Ten Trails residents who attend Enumclaw high school can further improve their goals of receiving a college degree through the college’s “Running Start” program. This unique program allows high school juniors and seniors to take tuition-free college courses at GRC to earn high school and college credit simultaneously!

Meet our New Team Members, Karrie and Katie!

Ten Trails is growing and not just in new families who are moving into the community!  We recently hired two new Welcome Center Associates to help us greet customers who visit the community and share information on the lifestyle we offer here. Karrie

Ten Trails is happy to welcome Karrie to the Welcome Center team! Karrie hails from Helena, Montana originally but has lived in Ravensdale for the past 15 years. An assistant instructor at Green River Community College during the day, she helps us out by assisting customers in the Welcome Center in the afternoons and on weekends. In her free time, Karrie loves playing fantasy football, watching baseball, spending time with her husband and two kids and hiking on all the local trails with her yellow lab.

Katie

A native to western Washington, Katie now resides in Ravensdale with her husband and two kids. She has more than 10 years of experience working with families in the multi-family and rental housing industry and excels in customer service and event-planning. Is a regular yoga practice part of your fitness routine? You are in luck! Ten Trails Residents have their pick of nearby yoga studios! With so many great studios nearby, residents are sure to find a studio and class that best suits their practice style, fitness level and schedule.

Studio Barre and Lounge

First on our list and located right around the corner from the community, Studio Barre and Lounge is currently the closest yoga and fitness studio to Ten Trails. Not only a place for yoga, Studio Barre and Lounge also offers barre classes with a separate studio specifically built for barre. The studios all have a heating system that attains the ideal balance of heat/humidity for the best hot practice. The fun doesn’t end when class is over, either! Studio Barre and Lounge regularly hosts events like their Girls Night Out event featuring a photo booth sponsored by Ten Trails on December 7th. 

Get Hot Yoga

Get Hot Yoga advertises “yoga for every body” with classes in various yoga styles including Vinyasa, Hatha, Yin, Sculpt, Barre and a hybrid of Yin and Vinyasa they call, Yin-yasa. Get Hot Yoga also offers private session and specialty workshops for practitioners who are looking to up their skills in a specific form of yoga like arm balances or inversions. Get Hot Yoga’s studio lives up to it’s name, with temperatures in its classes that range from 78-105 degrees.  The lovely studio is located just a few miles from Ten Trails in nearby Maple Valley, next to Ristretto’s Coffee and Wine Bar.

Yoga Family, Inc.

Unique to the area, Yoga Family, Inc. offers non-hot yoga for the entire family. Adults along with teens, seniors,  people with special needs, and young children are welcome in this inclusive studio in Maple Valley. Yoga Family Inc. offers a full schedule of weekly classes only with events and workshops like their upcoming Earth Yoga, Autumn Series workshop which helps introduce children to the natural world through yoga.

Soul Spark Yoga

Last but not least on our list is Soul Spark Yoga, located in nearby Kent near Lake Meridian. Located on the second story of building off Kent-Kangley Road, the space exudes peace and serenity.
